Engagement in Meaningful Activity
There is a long established relationship between our health and our engagement in particular tasks or activities. Many factors help decide what, where, how, when…. and perhaps most importantly ‘if’, we can do the tasks we need to do and want to do in a typical day.
Our mental health can be considered one of the most significant factors in our capacity to look after ourselves and others, engage in play or other productive activities, and be able to rest and recover effectively. The activity-health relationship also means that engagement in a balance of activities can help a person achieve optimal mental health.
Optiform Occupational Therapists each have more than 10 years of experience in mental health across both private and public health settings.
Our clinicians work with children, adolescents, adults and families in the assessment and treatment of serious and long term mental health conditions as well as people experiencing acute stress and other challenges in day to day function where there is an impact on relationships, physical health, learning and development, or employment.
