Optiform now provides the option of delivering therapy and assessment via Telehealth.
Telehealth sessions are an effective way to continue therapy and conduct assessments. Information on how to set up the session and any extra resources required will be discussed with you and sent through before the first session. You will need a computer, laptop, tablet or phone with internet connection.
A Telehealth session is similar to a clinic-based session and there is good evidence to support positive outcomes. Your therapist will work with you and/or your child directly and be available to demonstrate and discuss all therapy objectives. Session length and frequency will vary depending on progress and the purpose of the session.
There is strong evidence to suggest that telehealth works for children with articulation difficulties, speech sound disorders, language delay and disorders, early language development, literacy delays and parent training for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Speech and language disorders can have a big impact on a child both academically and socially. We believe that no child should miss out on the opportunity to access quality speech pathology intervention so all children can achieve their communicative potential.
There are many other benefits of Telehealth including;
- convenience
- no travel time or costs
- safe and familiar setting for therapy.
